Glasgow Warriors head coach Sean Lineen has made three changes to the starting line up for the team to face Llanelli Scarlets on Friday 8 September (7.10pm) from the team who narrowly lost to the Dragons last week. In the backs, Colin Shaw replaces Mike Robert on the left wing and in the forwards, John Beattie replaces the injured Jon Petrie and Andrew Wilson replaces John Barclay.
Lineen said: “Colin has been training very well and deserves a chance. He’s a tidy footballer and this will be a real test for him to prove he’s hungry for a place in the side. John Beattie is another talented footballer who adds a hard edge to the team. He needs to stand up and be counted, perform well and make people take notice. Andy Wilson is a tough player who also deserves a chance and needs games as he’s been working hard. He gives us an extra physical dimension which was lacking against the Dragons.
“It’s an understatement to say that it was a massive disappointment last week. They didn’t beat us – we beat ourselves and let them take the game by one point. However, we’ve got to take on board that it’s a long season, put it behind us and look forward with a positive attitude and belief in the squad.”
