Glasgow Hawks Rugby Club Canniesburn Care Home

Epic bus journey

As you can imagine it was a happy bus journey home from the granite
city of Aberdeen. Both Hawks 1sts and 2nds had won well and the
opportunity to celebrate was duly taken.
The initial step was to purchase a carry out so Tour Nipper, Richie
Gray was dispatched with some older assistants to do the necessary.
Two supermarket trolleys then delivered a massive carry out seemingly
bought along the lines of choose a drink to match the colours of the
rainbow. Every flavour of Bacardi breezer was represented along with
the usual culprit of vintage port. A new comer was gin and tonics in
cans- sorry Mattie but no lemons.
Our splendid MC for the evening, Nick Cox, then picked up the mike
and led off with some Robbie Williams. Ali Craig gave a rocking
Bohemian Rhapsody which started a torrent of talent pouring down the
front to volunteer. The attraction of Mikie Adamson handing out
strawpedos of reefs and archers no doubt helped.
Spontaneous outbreaks of whole bus singing included a ditty about the
city of Dundee[sorry Stevie] and the club anthem dedicated to the
charms of our favourite lady, Mrs Murphy.

Richard Mcknight also led a wonderful rendition of an old French folk
song which had different lyrics from the one I learned in primary
school!

A good end to a good day. Training next week leads us into Hawick
away for the 1sts[ hurray another bus journey[ and a local derby for
the 2nd xv vs Hill/Jills.
