GLASGOW WIN

Glasgow Warriors turned on their best display of the season so far to send a Hughenden crowd of 2295 home happy tonight after a 24-13 victory against European champions Munster.

Dan Parks scored 19 of Glasgow's points, including an interception try, the Scotland stand-off running all the way to score from nearly 40 metres. He kicked the conversion to add to four earlier penalty goals.

Thom Evans scored Glasgow's other try for an 11-6 lead after 20 minutes.

But Warriors had to dig deep at the end of an exciting contest. Leading 24-6 and seemingly safe, they lost Euan Murray and Sam Pinder to the sin-bin, and desparate defence, notably by John Beattie, denied Munster until Tomas O'Leary sneaked over from a close-range scrum. Eoghan Hickey added the conversion.

Jeremy Manning kicked Munster's early penalty goals.
