WORKING PARTY MEMBERSHIP SET

A working party to examine Scottish Rugby’s governance issues below the recently agreed Scottish Rugby Board and Scottish Rugby Council is to hold its first meeting on Monday.

The creation of the working party was decided when clubs endorsed an amendment from Glasgow Hawks and Lismore at the SGM earlier this month.

The working party will consider the structure and processes of other elements of Scottish Rugby’s operations and will also look at the role, remit and responsibility of District Boards and their relationship with other parts of the governance structure.

The working party will bring forward its recommendations at the SRU’s AGM in June.

The working party will be chaired by Edinburgh lawyer and former Scotland A team manager Rob Flockhart. One other independent member is the former Scotland winger Matt Duncan.

From the existing SRU General Committee Arthur McCulloch (North district representative) and George Jack (Edinburgh district representative) will serve on the working party.

The other members of the working party are:

Graham Kerr – Caledonia District Administrative Executive
Alistair Forsyth – Earlston RFC, Scottish Borders RU District Board member
Bill McMurtrie – secretary, Glasgow Hutchesons’ Aloysians RFC and former Glasgow District Administrative Executive
Fred McLeod – Interim Chairman and Chief Executive SRU
Kenny Hamilton – Board member Glasgow Hawks RFC
Martin Keane – secretary, Glenrothes RFC and member of the SRU Championship Committee
George Clark – secretary, Boroughmuir RFC
Richie Dixon – Head of Coach Development SRU
John Thorburn – Domestic Game Manager SRU
Sean Lineen – assistant coach Glasgow Rugby
Nick Rennie – Partnership Manager, sportscotland
