NATIONAL CUP ROUND TWO DRAW

Oban Lorne will welcome their near neighbours from across the Firth of Lorne, Isle of Mull, in the round two draw for the National Cup, which was made at Murrayfield today.

Oban play in West League Division 1, while Isle of Mull are in West League Division 3 but that’s not disheartening for Mull’s secretary Duncan Swinbanks. “That will be great fun,” he said on hearing of the tie that will be played on Saturday 28 October.

The draw was made by St Andrews University captain and inside centre Marc Thomson and Portobello prop Conner McLeod. St Andrews, who defeated Crieff and Strathearn in the first round, were paired away to Arbroath. Portobello, who accounted for Gala YM, will face Inverleith away.
