In line with Scottish Rugby's integrated National Academy structure, the nucleus of this season’s squad is made up of National Academy players and will be augmented by full-time professional players from Scotland's three pro-teams through consultation with the Scotland 7s team management and the three pro-team head coaches.
Looking ahead to this year's campaign, sevens head coach Stephen Gemmell said: "The IRB Sevens World Series provides our players with an exciting opportunity to test their skills on the world stage that they wouldn’t otherwise get at this stage in their careers.
"All those involved will benefit from the exposure that international sevens will give them and we are in no way underestimating what lies ahead for us. Hosting the series final in Scotland next June will offer us home advantage in front of many Scotland supporters."
The rest of the squad is: Scott Forrest (Border Reivers & Hawick), Sean Crombie (Border Reivers & Aberdeen GSFP), Lee Kibble (Border Reivers & Gala), Mark Robertson (Border Reivers & Melrose), Scott Newlands (Border Reivers & Kelso), Roddy Grant (Border Reivers & Gala), Richie Vernon (Border Reivers & Stewart’s-Melville), Andrew Easson (Edinburgh & Stewart’s-Melville), Dave McCall (Edinburgh & Stewart’s-Melville), Cameron Ferguson (Edinburgh & Dundee HSFP), Murray Bringhurst (Edinburgh & Watsonians), Richard Mill (Heriot’s & Caledonia Academy), Steven McColl (Dunfermline & Caledonia Academy), Andrew Dymock (Dundee HSFP & Caledonia Academy), Chris Kinloch (Fettes College & Edinburgh Academy), Paul Loudon (Edinburgh Academicals & Edinburgh Academy), Callum Anderson (Melrose & Borders Academy)
