HERIOT'S forced their way into the title race with a solid win over the champions at Anniseland.
Hawks broke the deadlock with a tenth-minute penalty by Mike Adamson but James Thompson touched down for Heriot's and Graham Wilson added the conversion. The visitors stretched their advantage when Apolosi Satala scored their second try then Steve Gordon danced through the Heriot's defence for a converted try. And Wilson kicked an injury time penalty to give Heriot's a five-point lead at the break.
The crucial score came after 69 minutes when Satala went over for a second time and Wilson converted, then a late try by Ewan Smith secured the bonus point for Hawks.
