A Damien Kelly double helped Ayr to a bonus point wit at Rubislaw
Ayr maintained their pursuit of silverware with a clinical Premiership bonus point 36-18 victory over Aberdeen GSFP at Rubislaw.
Lock Damien Kelly led the charge with a touchdown double, the other breakthroughs being made by Glen Tippett, Johnny McClung, Nick Lavelle and Richard McCallum. Ben Colley got in on the act with three goals.

Rob Lawson and Moray Low were the Aberdeen scorers, while Tane Jerevich, slotted a conversion and a brace of penalties - but they were never in the hunt.

Watsonians kept alive their slim glory hopes with a nerve-jangling 39-37 win against champs Glasgow Hawks in a Myreside epic.

Hawks, who led 24-0 at one stage, looked on course to edge the success - until Craig Sorbie snapped up the clincher for Sonians in the dying seconds.

The other Watsons try stars were Malasia Mialo, Kiaan Coertzee, Andy Skeen, Will Rowley and Geoff Nicholson. Mike Ker added a sequence of kicks which proved vital.

Ricky Munday, John Fitzpatrick (2), Gavin Mories and Stevie Gordon went over for Hawks, while Mike Adamson was in great form with the boot.

Boroughmuir's Premiership campaign fade-out continued as they crashed 26-7 to Dundee High FP in a Mayfield encounter that was even more one-sided than the scoreline suggests.

Graham Thomson and Cammy Ferguson were the home try heroes, but despite their dominance they could not earn the bonus point.

Barry Jones claimed their other spoils with both conversions and four penalties.

It took Muir more than 20 minutes to get into the enemy danger zone, during which time Greg Scott burst through with Ross Cook clipping over the goal.

Premier pacesetters Currie turned on the power in the closing stages to hammer Hawick 27-7 at Mansfield Park and take another stride towards their first ever championship crown.

The relegation haunted home brigade were still in the hunt - but the had to answer as the Malleny Parkers rattled up three touchdowns in a frantic nine-minute spell to ensure the precious bonus point.

Currie's scorers were former Scotland tour squad star David Officer, winger Geoff Caldwell, full-back Chris Brown and substitute scrum-half Graham Calder. Ally Warnock weighed in with a string of accurate strikes.

Keith Hedley pounced for Hawick's only reply, converted by Rory Hutton.

Marc Teague claimed a hat-trick of tries as Heriot's underlined their Premiership title credentials by mauling Melrose 59-18 at the Greenyards.

The match was still in the balance until the Goldenacre troops bagged three scores in quick succession spanning the interval.

Remarkably, they also broke through twice when they were reduced to 14 men while Neil Meikle was in the sin-bin.

The other Heriot's counters came from Tam McVie, John Houston, Kenny Blyth, Dylan Mason and Graham Wilson.

Wilson landed all the conversions in addition to a penalty.

Alec Jessop and Graeme Dodds went over for Melrose in vain, Scott Wight kicking the rest of their points.
