Scotland 7s captain Scott Forrest suffered a hamstring injury during the Emirates Airline Dubai Sevens and as a result, will return home in the next few days.

After consultation with the Glasgow Warriors management team, Forrest will be replaced by Warriors’ winger Colin Shaw.

Shaw will join the squad for the second IRB Sevens World Series event in George, South Africa on 8-9 December.

A new captain will be appointed in due course.

The Scotland 7s team will return home on 2-3 June when the final leg of the IRB Sevens World Series comes to Scotland for the Emirates Airline Edinburgh Sevens – 2007.
