The Scotland Under 20 squad will report for training at Murrayfield Stadium this coming Tuesday (12 December) as they continue preparations for the U21 Six Nations Championship.

Scotland U20 team manager, John Jeffrey said: “It is vital to get the squad together on a regular basis to help the players gel as a unit before going into the Shadow Six Nations.”

Head coach Greig Oliver added: “This session will focus on developing a positive team spirit and how we are going to approach the tournament as a squad.

“Our defence is an area that we have been working on and we are lucky to have Gary Mercer as part of the coaching team who specialises in this area.”

The squad features a host of players who train on a fulltime basis with professional clubs and three players who are part of the Scotland 7s squad in the first two tournaments of the IRB Sevens World Series in Dubai (UAE) and George (South Africa) – Roddy Grant, Murray Bringhurst and Dave McCall.

The Scotland U20 team will have two further training sessions at Murrayfield in January along with their second training match, this time against the Edinburgh Rugby back-up squad at Meggetland on Monday 15 January (kick-off 5pm).

The Scots face England U20 in their first outing of the U21 Six Nations Championship at The Recreation Ground, Bath, on Friday 2 February (kick-off 7:30pm), the Friday before the main international at Twickenham.
