Narbonne 7 - 8 Glasgow Warriors
Scott scored Glasgow's only try Sean Lineen was pleased that Glasgow managed to win ugly in poor conditions in Narbonne, to stay within reach of Saracens in Pool 2 of the Challenge Cup.
Glasgow Warriors 'won ugly' according to coach Sean Lineen as they showed immense character to hold on for a crucial one point victory in the European Challenge Cup this evening.
Glasgow opened the scoring with a try from Scott Barrow and added to the score with a Dan Parks penalty but were forced to fight for the game when reduced to 14 men as Steve Swindall was sent to the sin bin for the last ten minutes of the game.
"Our defence won that for us" said Lineen. "It was nerve racking but the guys showed immense character to hold onto the game like that when we weren't as sharp as we should be. We haven't won ugly like that for a while, but in its own way, it was a pretty result. Narbonne are a really good side and the crowd didn't make it easy for us but the players rose to the challenge."
The rain stayed off but the dew conditions in the fog made handling difficult and the ground cut up badly underfoot.
With an impressive points buffer gathered during their previous two European Challenge Cup games, the win was essential for Glasgow to keep pace with Saracens at the top of Pool Two in the hope of progressing to the knock out stages of the competition
