Border Reivers 19, Glasgow Warriors 20
An injury-time try by Colin Gregor and a touchline conversion by Dan Parks with the last kick snatched victory for Glasgow Warriors contest against Border Reivers at Netherdale this evening. It was Glasgow second try of the Magners League match against Borders’ one, and on that count Glasgow deserved victory, however narrow the margin.
Hefin O’Hare scored Glasgow’s other try, and Parks converted, giving the visitors a 10-9 lead after 34 minutes. Calum MacRae put Reivers back ahead late in the first half with his fourth penalty goal.
Reivers were unable to take advantage of Justin Va’a’s absence in the sin-bin soon after the interval, and the second half was scoreless until Parks put Glasgow in front again in 72 minutes with his second penalty goal, the ball wobbling over into the rain-laden breeze.
But that lead was short-lived as Kelly Brown plunged over from a quick throw-in in 77 minutes. MacRae converted, and Glasgow needed a maximum to win. They got it with the last move of the game as substitute Gregor squeezed over in the left corner, and Parks added the goal points.
