The Screaming Eagles were narrowly beaten by Irvine RFC on the second of
January. The Eagles featured many current and former Hawks including Richard
Maxton, George Ooman, Chippie O Donnell, Tony Wright, James Adams and current
Anniesland pin ups Kenny Sinclair and Stevie Gordon oh yes and the housewifes
choice Lenny "Diamond Mine" Shamilton. Despite a raft of last minute call offs due to illness
the Eagles still managed to put out a strong team. Stevie Gordon led the way with
three scores and some solid defence, Kenny Sinclair had many of his trade mark
breaks and generally oozed quality and Lenny who captained the side looked great in
the warm up. Richard Maxton it must be said was a shadow of his former self since
leaving Anniesland, many observers suggested that he must have taken to the drink!
