NEW ANNIESLAND CENTENARY YEAR


2005 sees 100 years of rugby at New Anniesland.
When founded in 1866 Glasgow Accies first home was Burnbank before they moved to North Kelvinside .In 1883 they moved to the ground now known as Old Anniesland which was then bounded by Crow Rd on the East and Anniesland Rd to the North.Their first match at Anniesland was aginst Edinburgh Accies.They then moved to New Anniesland in 1905 but the ground took some time to lay out so it was not was officially opened by the Lord Provost Sir William Bilsland until 1908.
This year sees a range of events to mark the occasion and more details will be published later.
