Cameron Ferguson will captain the Scotland Under 20 team against England U20 next week having captained Scotland last year at U19 level.
Ferguson, a stand-off for Dundee HSFP and a member of Scottish Rugby’s National Academy, will lead the Scotland team out at The Recreation Ground in Bath on Friday 2 February (kick-off 7:30pm), the night before the senior Scotland team run out against England at Twickenham.
Scotland U20 head coach, Greig Oliver said: “The U21 Six Nations presents a great opportunity for these players and international rugby is what every player aspires to.
“There is no greater challenge than playing England, in England, and the coaching team are looking forward to seeing how the players react to such an intense and physical environment.
“We’re going down there in a confident mood and we’ll be giving the game all we’ve got.”
The four home nations, Scotland, England, Ireland and Wales, will field U20 teams in this year’s U21 Six Nations Championship, whilst France and Italy will field U21 sides.
Innes Brown and Kyle Traynor, both of whom are 20 years old, have been listed in the Scotland line-up for next weekend’s clash for front-row safety reasons.
The Scotland U20 team, previously Scotland U21, will also play their home games at The Falkirk Stadium for the third season in succession.
Scotland U20 team manager, John Jeffrey said: “The Falkirk Stadium has superb facilities and a great surface to play on.
“We’ve received a vociferous support from the local community over the past few years and I hope that this year will be no different.”
Chief Executive of Falkirk Community Stadium Ltd, Peter Eadie, added: “We were pleased when Scottish Rugby approached us to once again host the Scotland’s U21 Six Nations home fixtures.
“Part of our role at The Falkirk Stadium is to create opportunities for new events and fixtures, and these highly prestigious international rugby fixtures are an excellent example of such an event.”
