Glasgow Hawks U 15s, 35 – Stirling County U 15s, 10

This was a comprehensive victory for the boys. The match was fiercely contested from the start, but indiscipline from the Stirling boys led to a number of penalties being awarded against them and the first within kickable range was seized upon by Chris Rhodes and Hawks went 3 points ahead. 3 minutes later Elliot Connell went over for the 1st Hawks try.

The backs were beginning to play good rugby after a nervy start. Chris kicked another couple of penalties before slick handling and passing in the backs led to a try for Patrick Bell which was converted by Chris. Stirlings only response before half time was a penalty and the young Hawks went in 21-3 ahead.

Within 2 mins of the restart Patrick went over for his second try, Chris converted. Stirling then enjoyed their best period of the game for the next 10 mins and this was rewarded with a converted try. It wasn’t long however before Hawks hit back with a try from captain Jamie Swanson, converted by Chris.

The final score was 35-10 and the squad just keeps getting better with each game played against quality opposition.

The boys have to wait now to see if they qualify for the semis, there are so many permutations still possible that they might not know for another 2 weeks if they are to progress. All fingers and toes crossed!

Next match is at home to Aberdeen on Sunday 4th March.
