As you are probably aware there is a long history of your club attending our Sevens with the exception of the last few years when our league and Cup began to clash. The original connection was John Hodgkinson who played at Caldy (in my second XV in the early Seventies) before moving up to Glasgow. Latterly Craig, his son, has been bringing down a team which certainly added colour to the event. Many members of the club were very saddened when we heard of his sudden death. As a mark of respect and to commemorate him we are to rename our bowl competition “the Craig. J. Hodgkinson Bowl”. This will be presented to the winners of the Third KO competition and will be kept by the club. In this way many clubs will have a trophy with his name on it.
