GLASGOW HAWKS comfortably dismissed Aberdeen Grammar in the final leg of the Super Cup to put their game in good order for their sixth round Scottish Cup tie with Heriot's on Saturday.

The home side threatened briefly to make a game of it leading 21-17 just after the break but capitulated to a five-try rush for the visitors in the last half hour.

Ironically 31 of the Hawks points came from former Aberdeen players - 21 from stand-off Murray Strang and two tries from winger Stuart Low. The Glasgow side had raced into a 14-point lead in ten minutes but were hauled back by the home side who were also using the game as a warm up for their Scottish Cup tie against Queen's Park Cartha.

Grammar were however unable to sustain the pace against Hawks' superior support play. Even after scoring seven tries, Hawks coach Davie Wilson saw room for improvement. "We'll need to play better if we are to progress in the cup," he said.
