SCOTS EXIT ADELAIDE IN PLATE SEMI’S
Posted: 08/Apr/07

Scotland 7s 5, South Africa 7s 42
Scotland found themselves down 26-0 at the break but fought back as Mike Adamson crossed the whitewash for the Scots.

However, Scotland couldn’t contain the power of the South Africans and were duly knocked out of the Plate final.

Following their exit from the Adelaide Sevens, head coach Stephen Gemmell said: “The boys have done well over the weekend.

“We just missed too many one-on-one tackles, and our physicality let us down a bit.”

The Scots now sit in eighth place in the World Sevens Standing and will return home this week to begin preparations for the London Sevens on 26-27 May before they compete in the final leg of the Series at the home of Rugby Sevens, Scotland, in the Emirates Airline Edinburgh 7s on 2-3 June.

The Emirates Airline Edinburgh 7s, the final leg of the IRB Sevens World Series, will feature the world’s top teams over two days of fast flowing, skilful and dynamic international rugby sevens together with a fun-packed Festival of Rugby on the back pitches, making it the ‘not-to-be-missed’ event of the summer.

Tickets are available now at the great value price of only £10 for one day or just £15 for both (with free concessions on all pre-booked tickets).
