MELROSE 7S--HAWKS TOO HOT FOR CURRIE

Currie 7 Glasgow Hawks 29
Glasgow Hawks made a bright start with a brace of tries from Ally Maclay. Maclay stumbled over the line for his first score before he took advantage of a looping pass to intercept and double Hawks advantage.
Andy Hutt hit back for Currie when tidy passing enabled him to cross from the corner and Richard Snedden converted to narrow the gap on the Glasgow side.
The Hawks response was swift as John Fitzpatrick broke away from the halfway line to cross and Mike Adamason converted.
Maclay then got his hat-trick when Steven Duffy drew his man and sent him clear down the right channel. Adamson then added a further two points.
Hawks kept up the pressure and it paid off with a fifth and final score of the tie. Sean Murray crossed as Hawks added their name to the next round.
