Cammy Little returns to Murrayfield

Semi final win

It was Plate Semi Final time at Old Anniesland and there was plenty of speculation if GHK could get to Murrayfield for the first time in ten years. Cammy Little is the only player from the team that won the Shield who still plays for GHK.

Our opposition were pretty big and it was obvious from the start that they were as keen as us to get to Murrayfield.

After ten minutes Disco charged into the RS twenty two and swift release and fast han s saw Rory Love score and Bill Criggie converted. Fifteen minutes later RS scored a unconverted try fom about five metres out following a penalty offence by GHK.

Three minutes later John Shannon ghosted past the defence and Bill converted to take the score to 14-5. Towards the end of the half Bill attempted to stretch with two unsuccessful penalty attemts.

HALF TIME 14-5

Early in the second half Rory was yellow carded and RS scored a converted try from the resulting penalty to make it 14-12. The RS forwards were really up for it and GHK spent pretty much the next thirty minutes up against some stern opposition. We had one or two opportunities to settle the game but great defence and mistakes meant that it was still 14-12 with about ten minutes to go.

With about five minutes to go Stu Hunter finished off a nice move to score an converted try . 19-12

Close to full time the advantage of having Cammy on the park was there for all to see when he orchestrated a miss pass to put Stu in for his second score .

FULL TIME 24-12

So we are off to Murrayfield on 5/5 to play in the Plate Final.

NEXT GAME GHK V MARR @ OA on 28/4 KO TBC
