GHK require Little assistance

FROM THE SCOTSMAN
GHK 34-29 CRIEFF & STRATHEARN
GARY HEATLY AT MURRAYFIELD
SUBSTITUTE Cammy Little steered GHK to victory in an exciting National Plate final on Saturday at Murrayfield.

The silverware looked to be heading to Crieff and Strathearn until the introduction of the 38-year-old back, who won the Shield with GHK ten years ago, inspired the team to a 34-29 triumph.

The former Glasgow Hawks man came on after the hour mark and scored two tries, both converted by stand-off Jaimie Millan, to get his side back to 29-29. Fellow sub Mark Oatey then snatched the win for the men from the west with an unconverted try four minutes from time.

Little said: "We could have let our heads go down when we were losing but the guys kept going and we found a bit of urgency in our game and it was a great ending."
