This annual event in the social calendar was another outstanding
success. A celebration of both sports with awards and- very short -
speeches contributed to a highly entertaining evening, The Hockey
girls had earlier been narrowly beaten in the Scottish cup Final in
Edinburgh but soon picked themselves up fora riproaring evening.
Proceedings were opened with Grace from Hawks secretary and legend,
Hugh Barrow.
The Hockey awards were presented by the ebullient Sally Tait
culminating in the Player of the Year award to Aimi Gibson, an
outstanding young goalkeeper.
The following awards were then presented to the GHK rugby section-
GHK 2ND XV PLAYER OF THE YEAR- JOE FUCHS
GHK CLUB MAN OF THE YEAR- JIM THOW
GHK YOUNG PLAYER OF THE YEAR- DANNY HOFFMAN
GHK MOST IMPROVED PLAYER OF THE YEAR- EUAN THOW
GHK 1ST XV PLAYER OF THE YEAR- - MIKE GRIBBEN
GHK TEAM OF THE YEAR- GHK 1ST XV
All present then decamped to the bar to be entertained by the
strolling troubadors of Ross Dewar and Cammy Little.
The Bacardi Breezer Boat Race challenge followed a familiar
pattern- the boys cheated and were declared losers yet again through
excessive spillage.
Well done to both sections for a great season.
Pictures to follow!
