Malcolm Gillies (Lismore) has been elected to the new Scottish Rugby Council as the representative for clubs in BT National League Divisions 3 and 4.
Mr Gillies was elected by 12 votes to 3 over Andy Little (Highland) in a postal/fax ballot.
There are now only three places to be filled on the Council – the representative of the referees; the representative of the professional players; and the President.
Those elected thus far:
BT Premier Division 1 – George Clark (Boroughmuir)
BT Premier Division 2 – Keith Wallace (Haddington)
BT Premier Division 3 – Jim Stevenson (Cambuslang)
BT National League Divisions 1 and 2 – Archie Ferguson (Lenzie and Dalziel)
BT National League Divisions 3 and 4 – Malcolm Gillies (Lismore)
Edinburgh & District – George Jack (Leith and Biggar)
Glasgow & District – Bill Nolan (Irvine and Oban Lorne)
Midlands – David Nicol (Dundee HSFP)
North – Gordon Cox (Moray)
Scottish Borders – Norman Douglas (Selkirk)
Women – Sandra Kinnear (Lismore)
Schools – Norman Anderson (Berwickshire High School)
