Spotted in Cottiers tonight the legend that is Murray Scott. A
pure bred Accie who came to Hawks and embraced the philosophy of
playing hard on and off the pitch.
Now married and living in London with a son and another child on the
way Murray was still in party mode back in Glasgpw albeit wearing a
shirt that looked like a sample from a wallpaper catalogue.
Murray's exit from Hawks came at the quarter final of the Melrose
sevens when he tried to pass his opposite number by kneeing the ball
over his head. The crowd and the BBC cameras loved it!
Wrong Scottie your memory is failing you!! In fact his
party piece was back-heeling it over his head and
opponent. But if memory serves me he tried it in front
of TVs and missed the ball allowing his opposite no.
to pick up and score.
It was Dave Michie who used to knee it over players.
Hitman
Right lads
re David Michie that is a selective GHK memory I cannot confirm but as I see David out walking his dog I will get his story
re Murray Scott he did his overhead kick playing v the Barbarians --yes that led to a try against us-yes Cammy was mad as we could have won that match -the knee kick came late in the same match after we had lost and led to a consolation try and a standing ovation--which was on TV
Murray got confused that day he thought he was part of the entertainment --he then packed his car to depart to London at final whistle
