JOHN HALL

Hugh

Following on from our conversation last night, it is with great
sadness that I have to report the sudden and early death of John Hall.

I first came into contact with John around 6 years ago when he was
coaching Accies minis in matches against GHK minis.

In 2003 when the then Accies P7s had insufficient players to form a S1
team John, with son Peter ,came over the fence to join Hawks S1. John
was a hugely enthusiastic coach and thoruoughly enjoyed being involved
with youth rugby at Hawks. He was also a regular at Hawks 1st XV
matches (both home and away).

Peter went off to Strathallan school but that didn't stop John from
coaching the young Hawks. If Peter was available, John would collect
him from school on the Saturday and return him to school after the
Hawks match on the Sunday; if Peter wasn't available, John would be out
with the Hawks on the Sunday.

John continued with the young Hawks until last season with the Under
16s.

I last saw John on 12 July when he had happily "come out of
retirement" to join the Under 18 coaching team of Glenn Woolard and
Henry Gray. He was going off to Singapore for a holiday but was looking
forward to returning and being involved in the new squad.

Sadly, John passed away whilst in Singapore. He leaves his son Peter.

John was a gentleman and great company, he will be sorely missed by
all in the young Hawks.

Kind Regards
Gordon
