The day a “Hawks like” side beat a Lions Tourists XV

Tt could be argued that Hawks didn't play their first match in 1997 it was in fact in 1955.
In 1955 Angus Cameron of Glasgow H.S.F.P was appointed vice Captain of Robin Thompson’s British Lions that toured South Africa.
On their return they played a combined Glasgow Accies/Glasgow H.S.F.P. XV at Old Anniesland

The Lions’Select included the likes of Cliff Morgan,Robin Thompson,Tony O'Reilly,Arthur Smith and Rees Williams

The Accies/G.H.S.P. Xv won 21-16
