Many ex Hawks to prey on Falcons

Glasgow Warriors head coach Sean Lineen has selected all seven available summer signings for his squad to face Newcastle Falcons in tomorrow (Friday 31 August) night’s pre-season friendly at Firhill Arena (kick-off 7:30pm).

Alastair Kellock, who yesterday extended his contract with Glasgow Warriors until 2010, will lead his side out at their new home, The Arena, in the clubs only home pre-season game of 2007.

Looking forward to seeing his new squad in action on home soil, Warriors head coach Sean Lineen, said: “This is a great chance for the Glasgow rugby public to get behind the team at our new fortress, The Arena.

“It will be another big test for us before we travel down to Wasps for our final pre-season game next Thursday. Things are really gearing up ahead of the new season.

“Newcastle Falcons always give us a good game and it will be good to see Steve Bates again in his new role with the Falcons,” he added.

START YOUR WEEKEND WITH THE WARRIORS

The Firhill Arena has been successful in its application for an "occasional" alcohol license for Friday night's pre-season friendly with Newcastle Falcons.

That means that supporters of both sides can enjoy their favourite beer or wine in the comfort of their seat whilst taking in the action on the field.

Speaking on the news, Warriors Chief Executive, Ian Riddoch, said: "Some of our fans feel that being able to purchase a pint of beer or a glass of wine is part and parcel of the match-day experience. I am delighted to be able to provide this service so that we can meet the expectations of our supporters."

Beers and wines will be available in the concession kiosks inside the Jackie Husband Stand.

Season Ticket holders will have access to their own exclusive bar inside the main stand prior to the match. They will be joined by members of the playing squad after the game
