Ruaridh Jackson was on target for Hawks
Glasgow Hawks and Ayr got their Premier One campaigns back on the rails today with bonus point victories.
A last-minute try by Stevie Gordon made sure of the crucial bonus point as Glasgow Hawks carved out their first success of the campaign with a 27-7 win over Edinburgh Accies at Old Anniesland.

The other Hawks finishers in the Premiership Division One clash were John Fitzpatrick, Ruaridh Jackson and Grant Strang, with Jackson adding two conversions and a penalty.

Ross Browne burst over for the only Accies reply, converted by Dave Blair.

Ayr bounced back to potent form to shock Heriot's on their own Goldenacre turf in Premiership Division One with a 27-17 win.

Paul Burke was the chief destroyer for the seasiders as he grabbed two opportunist tries, the others being claimed by Julian Montoro and Scott Forrest.

Grant Anderson also contributed with two conversions and a penalty.

The home side's points were shared by Marc Teague and Graham Wilson.

Hawick rallied in spectacular fashion to inflict a heartbreaking 37-30 Premiership Division One defeat on plucky GHA at Mansfield Park.

The Glasgow outfit were on course for victory when they opened up a 30-10 lead, but they had no answer to the determination of the Greens for the rest of the contest.

Neil Renwick, son of Lions and Scotland hero Jim, got the first Hawick touchdown, with Matt Landels and Rory Hutton following suit.

But their real star was Craig Neish, who struck two conversions and five penalties. Barry Sutherland also grabbed a drop goal.

Niall Cassie, Andy Boag and Chris McKay went through for GHA, the balance of their points coming from the boot of Jim Noonan.
