Scotland have lost their opening match of the IRB under 21 World Championship in Mendoza, Argentina, tonight.

The result, a 22-28 defeat to Australia, has just come through on the wires from the Chacras Rugby Club and as soon as we have more detail we will update this story.

The result is a considerable improvement on Scotland's opening in the competition last year - a 15-69 drubbing from South Africa.
