CLUB FIXTURES FOR NEXT SEASON

Champions Glasgow Hawks will start the defence of their BT Premiership title against Melrose at the Greenyards on the opening day of the 2005-06 league season.

Other fixtures in Premier 1 on Saturday 27 August pair Ayr against Biggar, Aberdeen GSFP against Watsonians, newly promoted Stirling County against Hawick and two local derbies in Edinburgh, Boroughmuir v Currie and Stewart’s-Melville FP v Heriot’s.

Clubs in BT Premier Division 2 will be aware that fixtures for the Glasgow and Borders professional teams are not yet finalised and while the SRU will try to minimise the risk of clashes with Hillhead/Jordanhill and Gala fixtures these cannot be ruled out. Inevitably there will have to be some reorganisation of their fixtures which at the moment should be regarded as provisional, being finalised when the pro-team fixtures are confirmed.
