GHA 10 GLASGOW HAWKS 16
GLASGOW Hawks stepped up their revival with a hard-fought derby triumph over GHA, but the success was overshadowed by a serious looking neck injury to Gordon Macfadyen.
Play was suspended for almost 20 minutes early in the second half to allow medics to strap on a special brace and carefully move him onto a specially adapted stretcher.
Hawks had started brightly with Ally Maclay touching down after just a minute. Mike Adamson slotted the conversion and added three penalties to give them a comfortable 16-point cushion.
GHA refused to buckle and they were unlucky not to at least snatch a share of the spoils with tries from Rory Watson and Andy Rushforth.
