GLASGOW HAWKS 10 - 13 AYR
KENNY Diffenthal was the Ayr hero as they carved out their first away victory over the big city boys.
Both sides had gone into the fray with a clutch of key figures absent. Hawks, who have had such a shaky opening half of the campaign, were without locks Alan Kelly and Richie Gray - along with former Scotland speed merchant Rory Kerr. Ayr surged into a 10-0 interval lead, thanks to a try by Andy Wilson, goaled by Kenny Diffenthal, who also slotted a penalty. Hawks took a tumble to themselves and drew level with a Steve Gordon touchdown and two strikes by Mike Adamson. But Diffenthal's second penalty proved to be the clincher
