Philip ready to complete his remarkable recovery

TOM PHILIP, the Scotland centre whose career was wrecked by injury three years ago, is set for a shock comeback this weekend.
The Evening News has learned that 24-year-old Philip has recovered sufficiently from back problems to be considered for a place in one of the Edinburgh Accies' teams.
It is even possible that Philip could turn out in the Scottish Hydro Electric Premiership against third-placed Melrose at Raeburn Place as Accies bid to climb away from the relegation zone.
In September, we revealed that Philip was back training with Edinburgh with a view to eventually returning.
Later, plans had to be put on hold when Philip, who has been assisting coaching Accies, suffered a hamstring strain.
But the way now appears clear for the five-times capped star to pick up the pieces in a move that will bring delight to fans of both club and country.
