Hawks lose at Raeburn Place

HAWKS 15 EDINBURGH ACCIES 18

Edinburgh Accies grabbed a top-flight lifeline by beating lacklustre Glasgow Hawks 18-15 in an upset at Raeburn Place.

There was no way back for the visitors after the capital troops bagged a try from Matt Couper and two goals by Greg Laidlaw in the first seven minutes.

Laidlaw went on to add a penalty, however it was Couper's second touchdown which proved decisive.

The Hawks counters came from Stuart Smith and Marc Davids, with Ian Noble striking a conversion and penalty in vain.
