THE SCOTSMAN REPORTS
DUNDEE contrived to lose a match which they seemed to have in the bag, but there was controversy regarding Ian Noble's last-minute touchline conversion which won it for Hawks. Dundee supporters behind the posts were convinced that Noble's kick had gone wide, but both touch judges raised their flags, and in doing so virtually killed off Dundee's chances of Premier 1 survival.
Dundee had built a 13-0 lead but the tide turned largely due to the huge number of penalties awarded to Hawks by referee Andrew Healy. Marc Davids notched first a penalty and then a try which Ian Noble converted. When Dundee No.8 Scott McKee was yellow-carded Hawks sensed a chance. Centre Ally Maclay drove over in the corner leaving Noble with the conversion to win the game.
