Boroughmuir look to get back on trackLewis Stuart
It may be a horrible word, but “bounce-backability” has been used a lot this week in the build-up to the main game of this weekend’s domestic club fixtures. Both Heriot’s and Boroughmuir lost last week, and both need to recover their winning ways.
It is particularly important for Boroughmuir. At one stage they had opened up a 23-point lead in the Scottish Hydro Electric Premiership but defeat last week by Watsonians, the first of consecutive Edinburgh derbies, has seen it whittled back and Ayr, who will expect maximum points when GHA, second from bottom, visit them today are anxious to find out what effect a bit of pressure has on the league leaders.
Only a couple of weeks back, it was Heriot’s who were leading the chasing pack but they have slipped to consecutive defeats and know that a third loss would leave them chasing mid-table mediocrity for the rest of the season.
It is a much closer at the foot of the table where there are four sides battling to avoid being the two relegated. Two of them play each other with Dundee HSFP visiting Edinburgh Academicals, with the loser in deep danger of the drop. Not that the other have it any easier, GHA are at Ayr and Stirling County are at Glasgow Hawks.
