CONGRATULATIONS to the players for not only surviving the 80 minutes, but at times producing some sweet rugby despite the biting cold and the driving rain.
Watsonians were on top throughout, but made heavy weather of the first half, turning only 11-10 ahead. In a two-minute burst shortly after the restart, they rattled in two tries and effectively sealed the game but, thereafter, the home side seemed happy to settle for a fourth try and bonus point.
Two Andrew Skeen penalties to one by Ruaridh Jackson gave Sonians a first quarter advantage, and Ali Rowe's try was cancelled by Stewart Smith's reply and Jackson's conversion. After the break, tries from Willie Lipp, Bernie Hennessey and Skeen secured the bonus point, but Hawks fought well and produced a late try for Jackson
