Glasgow keep their European hopes alive

Colin Gregor came close for Glasgow
The win in Viadana keeps Glasgow's Heineken Cup campaign alive but Colin Gregor looked back at the moment when he could have boosted these hopes further.
"I should have scored," Colin told The Herald of the moment he found himself with the line at his mercy after blocking a scuffed attempted clearance. "It's one of those, whether I kick it or whether I try to dive and slide ... I went for the slide option and went straight over the ball.

"It was frustrating because that would have given us three tries and we would have been pushing for the fourth, but ultimately the important thing was that we held on to win and now we need to score four tries next week.

"It's been a bit frustrating this season, so it was good to get a win which keeps our European hopes alive," he said.

"The conditions here didn't help us trying to play any sort of running rugby, whereas the good thing with Saracens is that they tend to like a loose, open game, so while they look to score tries, they concede them as well and there's no reason we can't score four tries next week.

"We had a wee sticky patch over Christmas where we lost a couple of close games that on another day we would have won, but that's us back on the winning path and next week's a great chance for Glasgow to do something we've never managed before.

"It has been frustrating because we know we can play and it's just not quite clicking. It's just little bits here and there, individual errors that are letting us down, but at some time we'll get rid of them and it'll all click. Hopefully next week."
