Coaching changes at Hawks

The Scotsman reports
Hawks sever ties with Cockburn

SCOTTISH Cup holders Glasgow Hawks have parted company with assistant coach Dave Cockburn – with club officials insisting he has not been sacked.

Hawks started the Premiership campaign as one of the favourites for the title, but have struggled to string together positive results and may well finish in the lower half of the table.

Director of rugby Hamish Fyfe confirmed: "Dave has decided to step down of his own accord. He has not been dismissed or anything like that. He was finding it increasingly difficult to fit in the commitment to the club and the travel to and from the east of the country."

Former GHA stalwart Fergus Wallace will take over as assistant to head coach David Wilson until the end of the season. Fyfe added: "The whole coaching set-up will be reviewed at that stage."
