HAWKS SUPPORTS "HEARTS AND BALLS"

"Hearts and Balls aims to ensure that those connected with rugby are supported by the wider rugby community in times of need. This assitance can be long term or short term; it can be financial and non-financial; it can be directed towards and individual or towards a group; it can be advocacy and advisory.

We do not fund other charities or movements but will connect people and groups to ensure that help is directed where it is most needed.

We will lobby for change in the interests of vulnerable people and groups and we will act as advocates."

Over the last three seasons, Glasgow Hawks have raised £2,000 for the Hearts & Balls Appeal. The majority of our fundraising is generated from our end of season dinner dance and two recent incidents in Glasgow have illustrated the need for Hawks to continue to support H&B in order to help rugby help its own.

Two young players, one from Cambuslang RFC and one from St. Aloysius College, have been seriously injured playing rugby and Hearts and Balls can provide support if required.

Glasgow Hawks would like to express sincere thanks to David Millar (ex-West of Scotland) for giving up his time to come and collect a presentation cheque at half-time during Saturday's between Hawks and GHA.
