The Scotland A team were triumphant in Venice this afternoon as they defeated their Italian counterparts by 22 points.
Scotland A, co-coached by Andy Robinson and Sean Lineen, scored through Glasgow Warriors duo Graeme Morrison and Thom Evans whilst Edinburgh pair Ross Rennie and Ben Cairns also crossed the line. Gloucester prop Alasdair Dickinson was the fifth Scot to make the score sheet.
Edinburgh stand-off Phil Godman converted three of Scotland’s tries and added two penalties to round off a successful day.
After the game, Andy Robinson said: “It was a good performance. We started well but seemed to let them back into the game just after half time.
“The application and ambition shown by the players was really pleasing. We managed our game well.
“It wasn’t a perfect performance but the spirit of the team’s involvement, from the management team to the players, has been very encouraging.”
Supporters will be able to see the Scotland A team in action later this month when they face Ireland A at McDiarmid Park in Pert on Friday 22 February (kick-off 7:30pm).
