Rory Lamont, the 25-year-old Scotland full-back/wing, will miss Saturdays RBS 6 Nations Championship match against Wales at the Millennium Stadium.
The 15 times-capped Lamont (Sale Sharks) was injured during yesterdays loss to France at Murrayfield.
Scotland team doctor James Robson said: Rory has damaged his left shoulder and left ankle. He will require further assessment but will be unavailable for selection for this weeks game in Cardiff.
Dr Robson also reported that a number of other Scotland players had sustained the usual bumps and bruises associated with a Test match and that they would require further monitoring and treatment over the next 24-36 hours.
