Scotland reached their ninth consecutive Cup quarter-final in San Diego but Scotland 7s coach Stephen Gemmell now wants his troops to spread their performances over the two days.
We were disappointed with the way we played. We just need to go back home now and work really hard to make a difference.
Nine consecutive quarter finals is good on paper but we need to start improving our performances on day two if we are to take real strides in this Series.
Argentina dominated the first half with three tries, two converted, to lead 19-0 at half-time.
Then Richie Vernon brought Scotland back into the game with a try of his own which was converted by Mike Adamson.
James Thompson then crossed the line, this time Ali Warnock adding the two points.
But with only a minute left on the clock, Argentina slotted a penalty to deny the Scots any kind of comeback.
