Twenty five players have been listed in the Scotland squad from which the team to play Ireland in Saturday's RBS 6 Nations Championship match in Dublin will be chosen tomorrow.

The Scotland squad trained this afternoon at Murrayfield with four players missing out on the practice.

Chris Paterson (Gloucester) and Jim Hamilton (Leicester) were resting in light of starting for their clubs in Guinness Premiership matches yesterday afternoon.

Jason White (Sale Sharks) continues to make progress from the head knock he sustained against Wales but was not yet ready to resume contact training today, while his fellow forward John Barclay (Glasgow Warriors) was also on the touchline having injured his hand at the weekend. The Scotland medical team expect Barclay to resume training tomorrow.

Meanwhile the Scotland A squad also trained at Murrayfield this afternoon ahead of their match with Ireland A at McDiarmid Park, Perth on Friday (kick-off 7.30pm).

Two players were unable to train - Johnnie Beattie (hip) and Mark Rennie (dead leg). The Scotland A team is due to be announced tomorrow.
