Carrick 0 GHK 43
GHK progressed to the next round of the 'Plate' with a convincing win over Carrick in Maybole. After an initial period of pressure from Carrick, Chris Breckenridge sent a clearance kick into the Carrick half and from then on, that's where the game was played. Callum Harvie opened the scoring in five minutes with a try, converted by Breckenridge. Next up was Dicky, converting his own try, then Disco with Dicky converting. On the stroke of half time, McT scored making it 26-0.
Five minutes into the second half Callum bagged his second try with a powerful solo drive from five metres, Dicky converted. The next score came from Penne from a perfectly timed McAra pass, Ali took the tackle and his hope of finishing the game with clean shorts was over. Shortly after, Ali was to soil his pants again when he found himself in possesion ten metres from the posts and no defenders near him; a pass out to the heavily outnumbered McT soon saw off that opportunity. Last to score was Mark Hannah, son of Greg and grandson of Eric; we hope to see both out to support in the near future.
