Heriots to help mark Centenary
The B.T. Premiership match between Glasgow Hawks and Heriots on 24th September will be played at New Anniesland as part of a double header with Glasgow Accies taking on Linlithgow on the same afternoon.
This will form part of the Centenary programme celebrating 100 years of sport at New Anniesland.Prior to 1905 Glasgow Accies had played at Old Anniesland from 1883,arriving there via Burnbank 1866 and Kelvinside 1873.
The Heriots matches played a great part in the history of New Anniesland and the clashes between Glasgow Accies and Heriots attracted enormous crowds by present day standards. In the 1920s crowds of 8-10,000 were common with special trains being laid on from Edinburgh
