DONT DROP THAT JUG MAX

With Fridays Inter City clash at Firhill looming time to reflect

THE FIRST INTER CITY
1872
The match was played at Burnbank Glasgow Accies first home and later to be the second home of Rangers F.C before they moved to Kinning Park
Glasgow won by a drop goal to nil

THE HAMPDEN INTER CITY
1885
This year the Inter City was played at Old Hampden Park and reports from the time said that the stands were well patronised.
This ground was home to Queens Park F.C--later to become Cathkin Park (home to the sorely missed Third Lanark) when the Queens moved to the new Hampden Park in 1903

THE 50TH INTER CITY
Glasgow 5 Edinburgh 5
The 50th Inter City match was played at New Anniesland in December 1925 in front of a crowd of 8,000
The Glasgow team comprised of 9 Glasgow Academicals and 6 from Glasgow H.S.F.P which demonstrated the strength of Anniesland rugby during this period

Over the years the match has been played at various venues-Hamilton Crescent-Old and New Anniesland and Hughenden

So Max although owing to your prowess at golf you may be eying up long term getting your hands on another claret jug--in the meantime don't drop this one
