FERG'S CHURCHILL CHAT
Posted: 10/Jun/08
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
So far during this Churchill Cup, a lot has happened. We've already posted a win over Canada, which is no mean feat given the length of time weve had to prepare and the average age of our squad. I think that says a lot about the players and their professionalism.
We arrived in Ottawa last week after a pleasant journey over the Atlantic and settled well into downtown Ottawa. Our time in Ottawa was especially enjoyable since our training ground was the home of Barrhaven Scottish rugby club who were very welcoming to all of us.
The hotel was very conveniently situated near the market area where there were many places to relax, have a coffee and enjoy the Ottawa experience.
Our first game against co-host nation Canada was at Twin Elm Park in very hot and humid conditions.
After a slow start we came strong in the end and achieved our goal of getting the victory and the all-important bonus point.
Now the tournament has brought us to Kingston, which was formerly the capital of Canada.
Our hotel is situated in the outskirts of the cit centre. Fortunately, Im delighted to tell you there is a flume in pool which all the players have had much enjoyment from.
All eyes are now set on our next game against Argentina Pumas who will be fresh given its their first game.
However, our squad is focussed on the task in hand and will hopefully get the win which will take us to the final in Chicago a week on Saturday.
Ill update you all again very soon.
Cheers,
Ferg
