Encouraged by Kenny Hamilton ,James a product of St Thomas Aquinas School and played rugby at Anniesland along with the likes of Jason Carlin
Although he did not carry on to greater things on the rugby pitch not many at Anniesland can claim to have played opposite to Angelina Jolie
He has also starred in such as the Last King of Scotland
